Thanks a lot Ron!

I don't have a mailbox, per se, but rather a mail slot in my door. Normally, this would serve just fine, but I also have a psychotic Jack Russell Terrier who loves everyone EXCEPT our letter carrier and systematically destroys anything he puts through the slot. Since I don't EVER want him to catch the letter carrier's finger, I needed to come up with an alternate solution. So, I went down the hardware store and purchased one of those mailboxes you described. I also have a oak barrel planter on my front porch, so I was going to use that as the foundation for my mailbox pole. Now, after hearing my beloved plan called a "Weeble" on your show, I am too mortified to put it into action. Perhaps, if I just left multiple rolls of Nekko wafers on the porch, he would soon develop fingers too chubby to put into the slot...

Great job (as usual)!

Hi Luke,
I’m glad that you had permission to call. As for the mailbox photos, just send them as an attachement to an email and I’ll get ‘em.

Hi, Ron, this is Luke. After listening to “Yankee Mailbox"I called you to say that I really liked your episode. I want to send you photos of our mailboxes but I don’t know how to do that.
Also, I was excited to hear my feedback on your latest griddlesode. Yes, I did have permission to call. I used my Mom’s cell phone so that it didn’t cost very much, and she helped me place the call.
That’s all for now. I really like your griddlesodes, and I am always excited to hear that there is a new one! Tell “Other Ron” that I’m a big fan of his, too.

Ron, I found Griddlecakes while doing a search for Prairie Home Companion. I’ve enjoyed your stories and the quality of your work.
My sons, ages 11 & 12, have also discovered Griddlecakes. They like to play an episode in the their iPods when they go to bed. It reminds me of when I would listen to CBS radio Mystery Theater when I went to bed when I was their age in the mid-70s. However, I don’t need to worry about them having bad dreams from listening to Griddlecakes! Thank you!
Keep up the great work!

Thanks, Ron! Now I’m going to be looking at all the mailboxes in my neighborhood.
Merry Christmas to you and your family!

It seems that many people are interested in the scoring software that I used for this Griddlesode. It is called Cinescore from Sony. Here is a link for all those who are interested.

Ron, I was anxiously waiting to find out about the music for the show, so I was surprised to find out that YOU did it. I couldn’t believe that music recorded by such an amazing xylophone player would have been posted on the pod-safe music network. Even if it was generated by computer (care to provide any details?), it was still very catchy and well-done.
(If you are into the creation of music, you might check out the DVD “Touch The Sound” about an award-winning percussionist who is deaf. Look it up on Amazon. My kids love it!)
Two new houses (and mailboxes) for me, and nothing quite as exciting. I got the pole for the first one slightly crooked, which always bugged me. I was determined not to let that happen again, and I got the second one so precisely straight and leveled that the street looked crooked!
Thanks for another great G’sode for your GriddleHeads! (Wow, I’m a GriddleHead AND a ZedHead!)
