In this Griddlesode, Ron tells a story about the person who taught him the most about storytelling.
On this Griddlesode, we featured the following songs:
- Taxi Driver by Bus Stop Stallions
- Drive by Judge Jackson
- Drive Away by Matthew Ebel
- Jalopy to Drive by Hollywood Blue Flames
- The House My Grandfather Built by James Dalton

Enjoyed the show, but there are other types of bowling out in the world:

Hi Vanamonde,
Thanks for the link. I wasn’t implying that those were the only types of bowling. They are just what are found in Bowling Alleys where I grew up. And whenever I mention them to others not from the area, they look at me like I have two heads.
I do remember seeing lawn bowling once, but it was outside. It would be hard to keep the grass green on the inside of an alley:-)
Thanks again!
I was just about to e-mail you to ask if there were ever going to be anymore Griddlesodes when up this one popped in iTunes.
You’ve definitely still got the story telling touch, and now it sounds like we know where that came from. Great as always!
As for the “Other Ron,” if the pickles don’t get you the beets will.
Huzzah! New griddlesode! A pleasant surprise to see on my ipod, and a great episode as always. 🙂
Thanks for the new griddlesode! Enjoyed Papa Ralph. Been listening for a while. Thanks for sharing your memories with us. Always exciting to get a new one!
Hi Ron, I just wanted to tell you that I newly discovered your show and it has been the highpoint all last week. I live in Denmark where we cykle alot! so I listen to your shows on my way to and from work while cykling.
Also I work with cars so I drive a lot in this shitty job where I do the same thing over and over again and now I love just driving or doing mindless things at work because I can get lost in your stories.
and I just wanted to let you know that you’ve lightened up my last days and I look forward listening to more every day at work
One more thing.
I’m pretty sure that I am not in your “target group” because I am 23 year old Icelandic boy living on my own in Denmark for the first time and that fact made me think
Have you ever lived in another country or moved and been on your own in a new culture and having to learn new habits and even language ?
If so I’d really like to hear some good advices or stories concerning that matter.
If not it would make my day if you gave me a shoutout.
Ps. Other Ron consider yourself lucky to have such a good home!
Catch you next time 😉
Hi Emil,
Thank you so much for the detailed comment. I’m glad that you are enjoying Griddlecakes Radio. It’s nice to know that we can keep you company on your long rides.
As for living in another country, I haven’t. But you never know. Now that I’m an “empty-nester” I get to do different things.
And we just may be able to give you a shoutout in the next show:-)
