In this Griddlesode Ron tells the story of his first crush, called “My Maria.”
On this Griddlesode, we featured the following artists in order of appearance:
- “Broken Hearts and Fairy Tales” by: Jake Coco
- “The Secret’s Out” by: Jen Elliot and Bluestruck
- “Crush” by: Tommy Brown
- “My Heart took a Beating: by:
Theresa James and the Rhythm Tramps - In the podcast I forgot to mention “Friend” by: The wonderfully talented (and hopefully very understanding) Rob Costlow!
- “My Maria” by: Spike Ivory
And here is a Picture, from Listener Ed, showing his cell phone programmed with the Griddleline.
Due to the demise of The Podsafe Music Network/Mevio, we’ve removed all of the broken links and have attempted to replace them with direct links to the artist’s properties. If you are the artist and would like us to update these links, please contact us at griddlecakes*at*gmail.com.
congrats for being featured on podcsat411!
It’s great to see the exposure and hear you and Rob Geek-Out a bit.
Ron, bring on the forums. I’d post that my “Maria” was “Dana” and a friend helped me to do what we didn’t know was creepy or called “stalking” her all through my fifth grade. She defined that year for me. I bought her a cheap tacky fake diamond thingy from the neighborhood dimestore. I’m sure she’s forgotten me (if she ever did register me as being alive) but I’ll never forget her. Ahh, innocence and growing up! Thanks for the story and stirring up those memories Ron.
Ron,
Great story! it brings back many fond and sometimes painful memories. My Maria was named Sandra. Aaahhh…
Thank you so much for such an incredibly good podcast!

Happy Anniversary, Ron, Ron (& Tara!)
Congrats on a fantastic first year of podcasting!
I’m aways thrilled to find a new Griddlesode
has “landed” on my IM browser, particularly when they’re as excellent as – Griddlesode #S2-001: “My Maria”
Thanks for all the gr8 stories!
Speed Dial #174! LOL!!!
Hi Ron,
Great story as usual, and congratulations on your first year. Keep up the great work. I’m gonna try and get my wife to start listening. She’s podcast averse, but I reckon she’d enjoy yours.
Congratulations Ron. I found you thanks to Podcast411, and am now in the process of downloading every single episode to listen to, say, twice. This is one of the best podcasts I’ve heard in a long while, and goes right next to my favourite of all time (Diggnation).
Seriously, love the show, and expect my audio comment
Wow! Impressive new site design and forums. Great job with the site and show
