In this Griddlesode, Ron tells the story of a Valentines Day clash with a customer.
Thanks to Listener Chris for not only today’s ID, but also his guitar music that we used as background music.
On this Griddlesode, we featured the following recording artists in order of appearance:
- “He’s Just Mean” by: David Ippolito
- “Take Me Back” by: Geoff Smith
Please support these artists by purchasing their music. They make Griddlecakes Radio possible.
Due to the demise of The Podsafe Music Network/Mevio, we’ve removed all of the broken links and have attempted to replace them with direct links to the artist’s properties. If you are the artist and would like us to update these links, please contact us at griddlecakes*at*gmail.com.
I’m Not 11! I’m 9!
Sorry about that Chris!
I have no idea where I came up with eleven…It must be because you are so mature for nine!
Okay, I’ll make sure to let everyone know that the Griddlemaster messed up, and I’ll correct it on the next Griddlesode.
Oh, man! The “other Ron” is gonna have a field day with this.
Great show!
I can’t tell you how many times I have experienced the full range of emotions at 1AM in the the morning when faced with a dead computer or network device.
Thank You for producing Griddlecakes Radio.
HPUX! Was that version 9? Ahh, the fun of geeking-out, sigh… (^8
Kevin: Ya know, it has been so long, I just can’t remember. I think that it was the operating system for the abacus
Hi Ron,
“Valentine’s Day 1992” took me back to the days of tar tapes, SUN workstations with purple feet, and of course the lonely HP workstation that was in our office just because our SW was ported to that platform. Heaven help the AE who had to support the customer who was using that platform, eh? Oh wait a minute, that was ME!
Thanks for another great episode. Oh, and mark me down as one who’s used Kermit. BTW, how fast (slow) was that modem?

Hi – I’m Chris’s mom – how totally cool that you used his music and intro thing. He was not really as upset about the age mistake as his message made it seem. We enjoy the show as a family (all 5 of us). You’ve inspired Chris to start working on his own podcasts – I’m sure he’ll keep you posted.
Peace,
Karen
Bogie bogie…ah the days for tar tapes and Kermit.
And Karen, it is my pleasure to feature Chris’s stuff. And let me know when his podcast is up…I’ll definitely subscribe!
