Well, I knew this was coming, but it doesn’t make it any easier to hear. We still have a few episodes to go, though. Let’s celebrate the good times while we can!
Thanks for three years of excellent podcasting! I will miss the episodes but applaud your commitment to your family and other priorities.
I look forward to the remaining episodes and will remain subscribed to the feed in case you feel like slipping in an episode.
Why Ron? Why?
Yikes! These are scary! I haven’t even listened to the episode yet!
You bastard. Everyone else can give you the moral high ground kudos but you’re a cruel cruel person to get me hooked and then take away my griddlecakes. I thought the worst I had to fear was potential annoying sponsorship but this news trumps. Well, at least I have time to get my mourning gear together. Waiiighhhhhhh.
Well Ron, this is from still another Ron, you will be missed. But, as a father of twin boys and a teenage daughter, I know how you feel. So as you said in the podcast, everything WILL workout just fine. Trust me.
Thanks for laughs, tears, etc… I will keep listening until you sign off. Later.
Thanks for the support all. This isn’t easy for me either.
I always listen to your new episodes as soon as I get them. I am still in shock and wish you could go to one a month or one every other month instead of stopping. You will be missed.
Big surprise, big dissapointment, but I wish you all the best in your new media career, you family, and everthing.
I should have sensed something was up when the Other Ron was being so nice and agreeable!
I hope you find another challenging and rewarding outlet for your creativity and storytelling talent.
Come on people! It doesn’t sound like he’s stopping entirely to ME! So it doesn’t come out as often! Griddlecakes is still worth listening to! I bet he posts a new Griddlesode more often than SOME forum members even visit the site! What do you want for FREE anyway?
I’m think this show should be called griddle-let-downs!!!
“If you keep listening I’ll keep making griddlesodes”
Get yourselves checked into a good therapy program. It’ll get better in awhile
But than again, when was the last time you cried over the loss of a traditional media radio show?
Thanks Ron. I am not happy to lose the classiest podcast out there, but I totally understand. Family is sooo important. God bless your future.
We have enjoyed Griddlecakes Radio tremendously, and want to let you know how much we will miss regular installments. It was difficult enough when my youngest son Luke and I heard you were going to take a short break for a vacation, but the look on his face when he heard that you were going to stop making regular griddlesodes was very sad.
As the mother of three, including a 20 year old daughter and 17 and 11 year old sons, I completely understand what it takes to be a good parent for teenagers. Enjoy your family without the added stress of self-imposed podcast deadlines, and please share new stories whenever you have the time, inspiration, and energy.
I loath you David J. Ron has betrayed me An I don’t think I’ll be getting over that any time soon.
Well, Ron, this is my first time coming to Griddlecakes and I thoroughly enjoyed it! But I was so surprised to hear that this wonderful radio-show is coming to an end. As you said, life is transitions and you might find yourself transitioning back to hosting this delightful radio-show again after, hopefully, just a brief sabatical. See you at work
Well, I can understand your reasons and respect them, but I’m still going to miss having regular griddlesodes. I hope you’ll keep us informed as to where when we can see and hear any other projects you work on and I wish you well.
Having been a listener from early on it is sad to see you transition, but I do understand it as well. I hope that your next transition is as good for the community as Griddlecakes has been.
Best regards, Jon in Seal Beach
G’day Ron, thanks for your great stories and delivering on your promise to explore the lost art of story telling. You’ve made me laugh, reflect and you’ve made me cry. Hopefully as life keeps changing for you, as it does with all of us, you’ll find some time in the future to tell us some more stories. Good luck with everything in the future. We’ll be listening always.
Thanks for sharing your life and your stories, I enjoyed every show. Best of luck to you.
If you do the occasional episode in the future many of us would love to hear it.
Thanks for all hard work you put into the griddlecakes episodes! But…but… if you’re going to stop, at least give us a good referral for other story telling podcasts so we don’t suffer from withdrawal!
Ron I’m soo sorry about everything I said. I love your show and when those few special Griddlesodes come out I love love having them in my library.
Really sorry Ron.
It’s all good, Rosie and Icksnerk.
Thanks for being in the audience. I’m glad you both are listeners.
Maybe Other Ron could start his own podcast.
I have enjoyed listening to your podcasts, they were clean and intriguing stories, and the podcasts sounded as if they were done on a professional level. You are a master story teller.
I hope all goes well for you in moving on, and I give you props for making that tough decision. Good luck in all you do.
Ron, I am way behind in listening to the podcasts so i just found out that you will be changing the schedule. I wish you all the best in your new ventures and I’ll look forward to catching your new installments.
